Leather & Suede
Real leather changes with every day you wear it. It develops a patina that no synthetic alternative can recreate.
Because patina is not a look. It is a trace of real use.

The difference shows later
PU leather looks its best on day one: smooth, even, flawless. From then on it only goes downhill: cracks, peeling, a shine that looks like plastic because it is.
Real leather starts out more understated and becomes more interesting over the years. The difference doesn’t show on the day you buy it, but two years later.

Leather is the smooth outer side of the hide, robust and with a visible grain. Suede is the brushed inner side: velvety, matt, more sensitive to moisture, but softer from the very first wear. Neither side is better, only better suited to the occasion.
Technical detail
The difference between leather and suede lies in which side of the hide is used: leather uses the smooth outer side, suede the rough inner side. Both are real material, not a coating.
